S. Korean Fishing Boat and Crew to Be Sent Back
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- As already reported, the south Korean fishing boat "55 Daesung" was intercepted by navy men of the Korean People's Army while being engaged in illegal fishing operation after intruding into the economic waters of the north side in the East Sea of Korea on August 8.
This was an intolerable infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.
But it was decided to send the boat and its crew back to south Korea from the compatriotic and humanitarian points of view, taking into consideration the fact that they admitted the seriousness of their act and gave assurances that they would never repeat such act and the south Korean Red Cross requested its counterpart in the DPRK to leniently forgive and send them back.
