A.I.Savin - Later Career
In May 1999, A.I. Savin becomes the scientific director of the FSUE Central Research Institute "Kometa". Since May 2004, he was the General Designer of the Concern "Almaz-Antey Air Defense" OJSC, since May 2007 - Scientific Director of the Concern "Almaz-Antei Air Defense" OJSC. In these posts, he was involved in the development of global information management systems, while he was successful in creating information management systems in other areas, including the creation of global Earth monitoring and emergency control systems.
Simultaneously with the research and production activities of A.I. Savin was the head of the department at the Moscow Institute of Radio Electronics and Automation, a member of the Expert Advisory Council on Sustainable Development at the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the head of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on image processing, and a member of the Expert Council of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Academician A.I. Savin educated a whole generation of highly qualified scientists - doctors and candidates of science, as well as young specialists. He headed the basic departments of the MIREA (Moscow Institute of Radio Electronics and Automation).
The experience accumulated by Comet in creating large information and control systems has been applied in other areas, including the creation of global Earth monitoring systems, emergency management (natural and man-made), as well as in the development of modern medical equipment for cardiac diagnostics and iridodiagnostics.
A.I. Savin was an outstanding mathematician who specialized in mathematical and simulation modeling. He was the winner of the gold medal imeni A.A.Raspletina Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the gold medal. A.S. Popova RAS (2010) for the cycle of works on the physical fundamentals of the detection of small objects.
The activities of A.I.Savin was adequately appreciated by the leadership of the country. He was a Hero of Socialist Labor, a laureate of Leninist (1972), three Stalini Prizes (1946, 1951 and 1953), State Prizes of the USSR (1981) and the Russian Federation (1999). Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of several other academies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. Awarded four orders of Lenin (1945, 1951, 1971 and 1976), three orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1944 1949 and 1956), the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (1944), Orders for Services to the Fatherland, 2nd and 3rd degree (1995 and 2010), State Prizes of the USSR and Russia, State Prizes of Georgia and the A.A. Raspletina, a gold medal of the RAS named after A.S. Popova and many other awards.
Marked by the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation and the diploma of the Government of the Russian Federation. On May 20, 2005, he was awarded the title of laureate of the National Television Award "Victory" in the nomination "Legend of the Defense Industry Complex" for his special contribution to the creation of a defense shield of Russia.
