  • Sheikh Mansur received religious training in Jordan in the 1990s. While working for Ansar al-Islam and Ansar al-Sunnah, he was captured in Iraq in July 2004 but later released the following fall. He then joined al-Qaeda in Iraq and was believed to be "religious emir" of the organization at the time of his death.
  • He was killed attempting to flee from coalition forces. With him were Abu Tariq and a third person, also killed.1
