  • Associate of 9-11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar in San Diego in early 2000.
  • Awadallah's telephone number was found in Nawaf al-Hazmi's rented Toyota parked at Washington Dulles airport after 9-11. When his home was searched, he had photos, videos and articles relating to bin Laden.
  • He was charged with lying to investigators about his relationship wtih them.
  • He claimed he was mistreated while in U.S. custody. His attorney showed pictures of bruises on his arms, which he said he received from prison guards.1,2
