  • "Muscle" hijacker who assisted in the takeover of United Airlines Flight 93, bound from Newark to Los Angeles, which crashed into a field in Pennsylivania after its passengers fought back against the hijackers.
  • Muscle hijackers Ahmed al-Ghamdi, Saeed al-Ghamdi, Hamza al-Ghamdi and Ahmed al-Haznawi all came from a cluster of three towns in the isolated al Bahah region of Saudi Arabia, and they shared a tribal affiliation.
  • He was the only Saudi known to have maintained contact with his family during mid-2001, when he called his aunt to inquire about his sick mother.
  • Associated with Saeed "Jihad" al-Ghamdi, another "20th hijacker" who was not allowed into the United States.
