Bohai Jinzhu 1300P/1800LM RoPax vessel
Shandong Bohai Ferry Co Ltd committed to invest 1.8 billion yuan to adopt the rapid development of across-Strait and Sino-Korean trade relationship. In February 2004, Bangda Marine Consultant Company received a contract from Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd for supervision of series construction of Ro-ro Passenger ship with 1,300 passengers and 1,800 meter laned. Builder is Huang Hai shipyard, China. First ship steel cutting was carried out on March 18, 2004.
The 163.95-meter-long and 25-meter-wide ro-ro passenger ship has a gross tonnage of 20,000 tons. It can accommodate over 200 vehicles [more than 260 cars] and 1,630 people, the top carrying capacity in China at that time. It features a 2000-m driveway, a 2-storey passenger cabin and a 3-storey vehicle hold. With the dual main engine and dual variable pitch propulsion system, it is designed to travel at 18.5 knots and with a top speed of 20.6 knots, taking only takes 5 hours to travel from Yantai to Dalian.
The main propulsion system, steering engine, steering control system, communication and navigation system as well as many other facilities are made by well-known brands from Germany, Italy and Japan. In an integration of travel, leisure and entertainment, the ship is equipped with a series of world advanced systems including navigation, communication, satellite positioning and remote monitoring. The vessel is equipped with two sets of fin-stabilizers, which guarantee that the vehicles on the ship are not moving or toppling in stormy weather, and also guarantee passengers a comfortable ride. Electronic nautical charts, global positioning system (GPS), as well as the most advanced security monitoring system will help minimize the security threats in the vessel.
“Bohai Jinzhu”, the domestically safest and the most advanced and luxurious passenger and ferry vessel arrived at Yantai for the first time 19 September 2006. It was put into use between Dalian and Yantan to start its tentative transport operation on 20 September 2006.
“Bohai Zhenzhu”, a large scale luxurious passenger and ferry vessel built by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co.,Ltd, was launched at Shandong Huanghai Shipbuilding company, October 30, 2008. With an investment of 350 million yuan, “Bohai Zhenzhu” is the domestically safest and the most advanced vessel along with “Bohai Jinzhu” and “Bohai Yinzhu” vessels. BO HAI ZHEN ZHU / Bohai Zhenzhu, the largest and most advanced ro-ro passenger ship designed and built by China, was formally put into operation in Bohai Bay on 13 April 2009. BO HAI ZHEN ZHU, which cost Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd 350 million RMB to build, was the third passenger ship of the total 6 ships with an investment up to 2 billion RMB.
“Bohai Yuzhu”, the sister ship of this vessel, was set afloat the following year.
China's largest home-made RO-RO Passenger Ship "Bohai Sea Pearl" / "BO HAI BAO ZHU" made its successful debut in the waters near Shandong province's Rongcheng Yellow Sea Dockyard on 18 October 2009. The ship, made by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co Ltd with an investment of 350 million yuan, was scheduled to be put into operation between the coastal cities of Yantai and Dalian before the Spring Festival in 2010. As the fifth of six luxurious ships produced by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co Ltd which cost a total investment of 2 billion yuan, it is the largest, fastest, safest, most advanced, and most stable locally made RO-RO Passenger Ship in China. "We will start to build another four international luxury passenger ships next year," said, Yu Xinjian, General Manager of Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd.
"Bohai Fei Zhu”, the largest and the most luxurious, advanced and secure ro-ro ship ever designed and built by China, formally started its first trip from Yantai to Dalian on 01 June 2010. Six large luxury ro-ro ships have been built and put into operation in the Bohai Gulf. By December 2010 all the 6 large luxury ro-ro passenger ships with total investment of 2 billion RMB by Bohai Ferry Co. Ltd. had been launched into use. “BOHAI FEIZHU”, worth 350 million RMB, was the last one of the 6 luxury vessels, and also the largest ro-ro passenger ship in China at that time, according to the general manager of Bohai Ferry Co. Ltd.
