Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. (short as HTC) is the biggest corporation in producing industrial steam turbines in china. Set up in 1958 as Hangzhou Steam Turbine Factory, then on April 23, 1998, it was restructured and sponsored sole by Hangzhou Steam Turbine Power Group Co., Ltd, and it is a share company Limited founded by collecting foreign shares (B-share) listed domestically. The gross share capital of the company was 220 million shares, among which 140 million shares are owned by the state, also the 80 million foreign capital shares listed domestically, and were listed on Shenzhen Securities Exchange Market on April 28, 1998.

As the key research and production base for industrial steam turbine in the country, also the only one in China according to customers special needs to design and manufacture the industrial steam turbine with non-standard means requested. The corporation introduced the designing and manufacturing technology of industrial steam turbines from Siemens, Germany in 1970s. While combining the introduced techndogy with self innovation,the advanced technology of the company that enable its products completely accord with API612, NEMA and DIN and has established itself in the advanced product market now controlled by a few famous international companies, it provided the reliable equipment and superb and immediate service for the development of national economy.

By now, the company has manufactured more than 4,500 sets of steam turbines, and also supplied a majority of the domestic industrial driving steam turbines used in key engineering projects during various stages of the country's economic development.

The company takes pride in being the manufacturers of many first sets of domestic steam turbines, such as: steam turbine for driving the crack air compressor with ethylene plant; steam turbine for driving the refined oil plant with an annual capacity of 5 million tons; steam turbine for driving 48,000 cubic meter air separator plant; 600,000 KW water-supply pump steam turbine with 50% capacity used in super critical large scale thermal power plant; steam turbine used in large scale soda plants with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons; steam turbine for driving 2,500 cubic meter furnace blower; steam turbine for driving compressor with an annual output of 520, 000 tons of urea plant; steam turbine used in synthetic ammonia improved project with an annual output of 200,000 tons; power generating steam turbine for garbage power stations.

The company pays great attention on the technological innovation and self-research and development of new products. Since 1989, the company has successfully developed boiler water supply pump steam turbine of 300 MW, 600MW used in power station. The corporation has also designed the steam turbines used in 2, 500 cubic meter furnace blower, gas-steam combined cycle plant, 48,000 cubic meter large scale air separator, double pressure-compensating for surplus heat of cement kiln, "three kinds of ethylene machines" and so on, which have been awarded many times the state technological advanced prizes, and have filled quite a few technical vacancies in china. In particular, the successful development of "three kinds of ethylene machines", ended the history of large scale ethylene plant depend on import in a long term, and contribute for the rise of national industry.

The condensing turbines are designed on building-block system and their passage-flow part is optimized, turbine consists of three main sections. This series unit consists of a rotor and stator. The rotor is integral rotor. A governing stage is impulse blade and pressure state blades in the drum rotor are reaction blade cascade, end stages blades are twisted blade with the fork type blade root. The balance piston is provided on the rotor. The stator includes an outer casing(consists of a front section, middle section and exhaust section), steam chest, guide blade support ring, labyrinth gland and bearing etc. A governing valve is connected with an actuator of speed regulation system via a mechanical lever. The T6290 turbine has a rated output of 25,000 kW.
