PLA 69th Army
The predecessor of the 69th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was the 7th Column of the North China Military Region. The column was formed by the independent 9th Brigade of the Jizhong Military Region under the Jinchaji Military Region, and each of the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Military Divisions of the Jizhong Military Region. On November 29, 1947, the 9th Brigade of the Independent Jizhong Military Region of the Jinchaji Military Region and the 6 regiments of its subdivisions formed the 7th Column in Hejian County, Hebei Province. The leader of the Jizhong Military Region also served as the leader of the 7th Column, Sun Yi and Commander, Lin Tie and political commissar, Zhou Biao also served as deputy commander, Li Bo served as chief of staff. The original 9th Brigade of the Jizhong Military Region was renamed the 19th Brigade; the 75th, 76th Regiments of the 10th Military Division of the Jizhong Military Region and the 81st Regiment of the 9th Military Division formed the 20th Brigade; the 11th Army Division of the former Jizhong Military Region The 72nd, 73rd Regiments and the 64th Regiment of the 8th Military Division formed the 21st Brigade, with a total of more than 20,000 people, under the command of the Jizhong Military Region.
In January 1949, in accordance with the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China's order to unify the whole army's establishment sequence and troop designation, the 7th column was renamed the 69th Army of the People's Liberation Army, directly under the leadership of the North China Military Region, Zhou Biao served as deputy commander, and Qi Yuanwo served as deputy political Commissioner, the 19th Brigade under his jurisdiction was renamed the 205th Division, Du Wenda was appointed as the division head, and Xie Jiyou was the political commissar; the 20th Brigade was renamed the 206th Division, Liu Bingyan was the division chief, and Ma Zeying was the political commissar; As a commander, Deng Keyun served as a political commissar. In May, the designation of the 69th Army was revoked. The 206th Division and the 207th Division formed the Independent 205th Division of the North China Military Region, and the 205th Division and the 207th Division formed the Independent 206th Division of the North China Military Region.
In June 1950, the independent 206th division was revoked. In September 1950, according to the instructions of the Central Military Commission on the improvement and strengthening of special forces, the 205th Division Division of the North China Military Region was reorganized into the Air Defense Command of the North China Military Region, and the 614th Regiment of the Division was reorganized into the Searchlight Regiment of the Air Defense Command of the North China Military Region, No. 613. And the 615th Regiment were transferred to the 1st Brigade of the North China Military Region and the Air Defense Command of the Beijing-Tianjin Guard Region; the independent 206th Division Division of the North China Military Region was transferred to the Air Force Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and the troops belonging to the division were transferred to the 66th, 67th, and 68th Armies.
