Digital implementation of new modulation techniques, coding strategies and encryption devices makes Slice strategy possible. DMR/Slice goals are to meet the existing requirements from legacy programs, address present fleet requirements, and provide a nucleus for hosting new waveforms, protocols, dynamically adaptive bandwidths and power controls. This will result in radically more robust communications within the spectrum, and provide a vehicle that is able to grow to meet future demands.
