RR-112 is non-pyrotechnic chtiused exclusively by B-52 aircrafi. It consists of an aluminum-foil-laminated krafi paper box that contains 11 million aluminum-coated glass fiber dipoles in five cuts ranging from 0.3 to 0.6 inches in length. The older unit that contained foil chaff was designated RR-l 12/AL. RR-149 is also available for use by B-52 aircraft in both foil and glass fiber. It is the same as RR-112 except in dipole length, which ranges from 0.35 to 2.06 inches in seven cuts. Although the foil versions of these units may still be in the inventory, only glass versions have been purchased starting in the mid-1980s. B-52 units have indicated that they still use foil chaff.
