A senior Hezbollah military commander has vowed that the resistance movement will never lay down its weapons, rejecting disarmament plans as the Israeli enemy's attacks persist in violation of the ceasefire.
Hussein al-Nimr, a high-ranking Hezbollah official in the Beqaa Valley, announced that the movement is not seeking war, but will display a good image of its capabilities and might in case an act of aggression is unleashed against Lebanon.
Highlighting the various forms of pressure that Hezbollah faces, Nimr said enemies threaten to launch land, sea, and air bombardments at one time, and at another make threats of assassination, persecution, and wiretapping.
"Sometimes they threaten to exert political and financial pressures, and on occasions they convey implicit hostile messages through international envoys," the Hezbollah commander said.
Nimr noted that the core issue of proposals submitted to Hezbollah revolves around three points: Disarmament of the resistance group, withdrawal from military positions and full integration into the political process, and abandoning confrontation with the Zionist regime.
He described the conditions as "complete surrender with hands up," emphasizing that such a matter is "totally and categorically rejected."
Israel and Hezbollah struck a ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on November 27, 2024.
Tel Aviv was obligated under the deal to completely withdraw from Lebanese territory. However, it has maintained a military presence at five locations, openly breaching both UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the provisions of the agreement reached last November.
Since the implementation of the ceasefire, Israel has repeatedly breached the agreement with ongoing assaults on Lebanese territory.
Lebanese authorities have cautioned that breaches of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime pose a risk to the nation's stability.
