King of Bahrain confirms signing Tehran-Manama security pact

Manama, May 6, IRNA -- Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Khalifa al-Khalifa here Wednesday evening confirmed that governments of Kingdom of Bahrain and Islamic Republic of Iran have signed a security pact.

According to IRNA Monitoring Desk’s Thursday report, the official news agency of Bahrain (BNA) reported late Wednesday night that the bilateral regional security pact has been signed on December 25th, 2008, Dey 5th, 1387 on Iranian calendar, in Tehran.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) has not referred to any further details about the one-year-old-plus regional security pact, whose existence had thus far been kept as a secret.
