Thomson-CSF in partnership with Aselsan announces the signature of a contract
21 June 2001
Thomson-CSF in partnership with Aselsan, the Turkish Prime Contractor, announces the signature of a contract to provide the Turkish Air Force with a complete Electronic Warfare system to equip F-16s. The award of this contract reinforces Thomson-CSF's position in the worldwide market for F-16 upgrades.
The total contract is worth USD 190 million: Thomson-CSF's share is USD 108 million.
The contract includes a high technology and industrial transfer from Thomson-CSF to Aselsan. Thomson-CSF is responsible mainly for the design and production of the first units to be delivered.
This Turkish programme illustrates Thomson-CSF's strategy of involving local industry in the production of state-of-the-art defence electronics.
