6th Weather Flight [6th WF]
The 6th Weather Flight is unit of the 18th Weather Squadron and is located at Fort Rucker, AL.
Its mission is to provide operational and staff weather support to the US Army Aviation Center (USAAVNC); to tailor weather support to the aviation training environment; to train and maintain readiness to deploy worldwide in support of aviation and ground combat operations.
The 6th WF is also tasked with operating weather observing sites at:
- Cairns AAF, Fort Rucker, AL (6WF/WXO)
- Opp/Andalusia MAP, AL (6WF/OL-B)
- Troy MAP, AL (6WF/OL-A)
