The 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) provides worldwide rapidly deployable force projection signal support for Joint Task Force Headquarters, XVIII Airborne Corps Main and Rear Headquarters, the Ft Bragg Sustainment Base, and designated Major Subordinate Commands during war and operations other than war.

The 327th Signal Battalion was officially activated on June 30, 1952 at Tampa, FL, in the United States Army Reserve.

After deactivation in 1959, the battalion became reactivated in the Regular Army in August of 1967 at its current home of Fort Bragg, NC.

In 1980 the 514th Signal Company (TROPO) was assigned to the battalion were it remained until 1996.

The 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) has supported the XVIII Airborne Corps during numerous combat operations such as Operation Urgent Fury (Grenada), Operation Just Cause (Panama), Operation Restore Hope (Somalia), Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti), and Desert Shield And Desert Storm.

Alpha Company, 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) provides a corps area signal node and up to three worldwide, rapidly deployable Contingency Communications Packages in support of Joint Task Force Headquarters , XVIII Airborne Corps Main and Rear Headquarters, the Fort Bragg Sustainment Base, and designated Major Subordinate Commands during war and operations other than war.

Bravo Company 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) provides worldwide rapidly deployable force projection MSE signal support for Joint Task Force Headquarters, XVIII Airborne Corps Main and Rear Headquarters, the Fort Bragg Sustainment Base and designated Major Subordinate Commands during war and other military operations.

Charlie Company, 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) provides worldwide rapidly deployable Single Channel TACSAT, HF, Tactical Satellite Television Terminal, and MSE signal support for Joint Task Force Headquarters, XVIII Airborne Corps Main and Rear Headquarters, Major Subordinate Commands, the Installation Operations Center, and the Emergency Operations Center during war and operations other than war.

Delta Company, 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) rapidly deploys by land, sea or air as part of the Brigade MSE network in support of XVIII Airborne Corps and its major subordinate commands, and provides contingency Tri-Tac voice, message and data communications to the Corps/JTF Main, Corps Rear and the Fort Bragg Sustainment Base.
