Tornado Litening III targeting pod video footage of airstrikes on pro-Qadhafi FROG-7 Rocket Launchers and SCUD canisters. The airstrikes took place in the morning hours of May 6, 2011.
As part of NATO Operation Unified Protector (UK Operation Ellamy), Two Royal Air Force Tornado GR4 aircraft destroyed the weapons located south of Sirte using Paveway IV laser/GPS-guided bombs. Visible in the video are a number of large secondary explosions.
According to the RAF: "A previous mission had identified and gathered images of a possible site of interest. These images were analysed by specialists from the RAF Tactical Imagery Wing, who identified a large number of FROG-7 rocket launchers and several SCUD canisters." This information was later relayed to NATO pilots for targeting.
According to a post-strike assessement, it was believed that 20 FROG-7 launchers as well as a large number of SCUD canisters were either completely or partially destroyed in the attack
