Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko took part in the inaugural Sanctions Summit, which brought together representatives of EU partner countries, the European Commission, and Ukraine.

"We focused on coordinating the next steps to strengthen the sanctions coalition in response to russian aggression. Our efforts are already producing tangible results. This month alone, russia's oil and gas revenues could fall by 35% compared to last year," Yulia Svyrydenko reported.

She stressed that sanctions are effective only when decisions are swift, coordinated, and politically bold.

"Sanctions must continually evolve and close loopholes for circumvention. That is why the process must go on, and we expect the 20th sanctions package in the near future," the Head of Government emphasised.

Yulia Svyrydenko separately highlighted the importance of using frozen russian assets for Ukraine's benefit: "russia must pay a high price for its aggression. We count on the European Commission adopting a decision in the near future on reparative loans based on these assets. It was encouraging to hear that our partners share our position."

The Prime Minister underlined that sanctions remain a vital instrument in Ukraine's fight for freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Yulia Svyrydenko also expressed gratitude to all partner countries, the EU Sanctions Envoy David O'Sullivan, representatives of the European Commission for their participation, and the Government of Denmark for facilitating the organisation of today's summit.
