Taiwan's top cross-strait negotiator to visit China in December

Taipei, Nov. 14 (CNA) Lin Join-sane, chairman of the quasi-official Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), is planning to visit China in December, the SEF said Wednesday.
On the tour, Lin's second to China since he took up the post Sept. 27, he will travel to Shanghai, Dongguan and Kunshan, the foundation said.
He will visit schools for children of Taiwanese businesses people and ranking Chinese officials in charge of Taiwan affairs during his planned stay in those places, the SEF added.
The SEF and its Chinese counterpart, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, are intermediary bodies that handle cross-Taiwan Strait exchanges in the absence of official links.
Lin visited China in October for the first time as SEF head, on a six-day trip that included calls on Chinese officials and meetings with Taiwanese business people in Beijing, Hubei, Shanghai and Kunshan.
