| April 3, 2003 Release Number: 03-04-33 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARINE DIES IN POWER LINE ACCIDENT An Nasiriyah, Iraq - A 1st Marine Expeditionary Force Marine from Task Force Tarawa died on Monday after he was involved in a power line accident. The Marine was manning a .50 caliber rifle on top of a 7-ton truck when the vehicle passed under and apparently snagged low hanging power lines. The exact cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. The Marine's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. |
