SOUTHERN IRAQ - A United States Marine from First Marine Expeditionary Force drowned early yesterday morning when the High-Mobility, Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) he was riding in rolled over into a canal in South-Central Iraq. Marines at the scene tried unsuccessfully to revive the Marine for 30 minutes. The name of the Marine is being withheld pending next of kin notification. |
