Statement by Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld on the Bombing in An Nasiriyah
I offer my condolences to our coalition comrades and their families, as well as to those innocent Iraqis killed in today's attack. Attacks such as this bombing cannot stop the progress being made in Iraq, and only serve to strengthen the coalition’s resolve. The best way we can honor the sacrifices of all coalition partners, including U.S. servicemembers, is by ensuring success and by achieving freedom and stability in Iraq.
