Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)

18 June – United Nations envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello today briefed a meeting of UN Humanitarian Area Coordinators from throughout Iraq on his discussions with different segments of Iraqi society over the past two weeks.

Mr. Vieira de Mello, Secretary-General Kofi Annan's Special Representative, later met with the head of the Italian Mission in Iraq, Ambassador Antonio Armellini.

Tomorrow, he is due to go to Erbil in northern Iraq where he will meet the Kurdish leaders, including Massoud Barzani and Nechirvan Barzani. He will also visit a number of UN projects in the area before returning to Baghdad.
