- COALITION FORCES DROP LEAFLETS IN SOUTHERN IRAQ 2 January 2003 -- For the twelfth time in three months, Coalition aircraft dropped informational leaflets today over southern Iraq.
- COALITION FORCES TARGET AIR DEFENSE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES 2 January 2003 -- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target four Iraqi air defense cable repeaters. The facilities were located southeast of Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 3 p.m. EST.
