- COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MILITARY AIR DEFENSE RADAR VOA 01 Jan 2003 -- In response to Iraqi threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an Iraqi military air defense radar. The site was located near Al Qurnah, approximately 130 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. EST
