IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Jan 1, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that the Bushehr power plant is operating in a routine and normal manner.
During his weekly press briefing, he said the construction phase of the power plant has been completed and it is operating according to a pre-planned program.
Answering a question about the reasons for delay in launching the nuclear power plant, he said that technical tests have been completed by Iranian experts who are to run the nuclear facility in the future with plans getting underway to upgrade its security level.
He rejected rumors that a certain amount is added to the salary of female Russian technicians working in the Bushehr power plant for observing hijab and also granting diplomatic immunity to them.
He said the issue is not worth mentioning any more.
About Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in connection with the organization's inspection of Parchin site, he said good collaboration is underway between the two sides to reach an agreement on the issue.
He was asked to comment on Iran's decision to hold talks with the 5+1 in January when John Kerrey is to take the leadership of the US foreign policies instead of December which was the time of Hillary Clinton.
He said for Iran Clinton and Kerry are no different from each other.
He said the main point is whether they respect the rights of nations and logical persons.
