Vienna, Nov 10, IRNA -- Permanent Ambassador of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh on Saturday confirmed new round of talks with the Agency would be held in the Iranian capital on December 13.
The IAEA’s Spokeswoman Gill Tudor announced on November 9 that officials of the agency and Iran have agreed to hold further talks in Tehran on the said date.
Meanwhile, the IAEA’s Director General Yukio Amano in his annual report to the United Nations last week stressed the need to continue talks with Iranian officials.
In the next round of Iran-IAEA talks, Soltanieh would lead the Iranian negotiating team while the IAEA’s Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts will head the agency’s team.
The new talks would focus on setting new modalities to solve remaining issues about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
The last round of negotiations between Iran and the IAEA was held in the Austrian capital of Vienna on August 24, 2012.
