U.S. flotilla should not return to Strait of Hormuz, warns Iran

TEHRAN (ISNA) - The Commander-in-Chief of Iranian Army Major General Ataollah Salehi said the U.S. flotilla aircraft carrier should not return to the Strait of Hormuz anymore.

Salehi speaking in the last parade staged in the naval exercise in the Strait of Hormuz, southern Iran, referred to withdrawal of the U.S. flotilla aircraft carrier from the Strait of Hormuz when Iran launched the drill codenamed “Velayat-e 90”.

He warned it should not return to Iran since its presence is a threat to the country.

Salehi pointed out Iran holds annual war games to keep vigilance and might of the country and sends message of peace and friendship to friendly countries.

Salehi also stressed no one can threat Iranian nation and if any country does so, it should pay much price.

Meanwhile Iran's Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Hassan Firouzabadi who was present in the parade said Iranian nation make progresses monthly in military and technological domains.

Firouzabadi pointed out the message of the naval exercise reflects capability, efficiency, dynamism and the existence of new strategic weapons to defend Iranian nation’s interests.
