KNCA

Release Date: 11/10/2002

Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The solidarity for implementing the south-north joint declaration reportedly issued on Nov. 6 an appeal as regards the unilateral and high-handed attitude of the U.S. towards the north over its nuclear issue. Recalling that all guarantees for a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue including the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework, the DPRK-U.S. joint statement and NPT are being ignored by the U.S., the appeal accused the U.S. administration of such hostile acts as forcing the DPRK to unconditionally scrap its nuclear program and increasing the danger of war.

We categorically reject the U.S. hegemonic move to unilaterally solve such crucial issues related to the existence of the Korean nation in its interests, the appeal noted.

It called for rising up in a nation-wide anti-U.S., anti-war movement for peace to protect the nation's existence and proposed to hold an all-people peace meeting to provide a social and political environment for a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue.

Pointing out that the destiny of the Koreans should be carved out by their own efforts, the appeal urged various patriotic forces to rise up as one to defend the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and save the nation from an imminent crisis.
