| Reliable | According to reports by two passengers and a flight attendant, the hijackers used knives, Mace and a bomb threat to take the plane. They apparently killed both pilots and stabbed a flight attendant. 8:47: The plane's transponder code changes, probably due to actions by the hijackers. 8:52: Flight attendant notifies United Airlines of hijacking. 8:58: The plane makes a heading turn toward New York City. 9:03: Flight 175 crashes into South Tower. | |
