| Narrative and Notes |
|   |
 | Reliable | Passport photos of Rashid were found after a May 2002 raid in Karachi along with those of three other hijackers, Nawaf al-Hazmi, Khalid al-Mihdhar and Abdulaziz al-Omari. Rashid has claimed ignorance why his photo was there, although he admitted to training in Afghanistan. He turned himself in to Saudi authorities in 2002. He has since been released from custody.1 |
|   |
 | Possible | Khalid Shaikh Mohammed described Rashid as headstrong and immature. Rashid was sent to Saudi Arabia for to obtain a US visa to take part in the 9-11 plot, and he vanished, presumably because he had second thoughts or his family prevented him from returning.1 |
|   |
 | Questionable | He denies meeting bin Laden, KSM or any 9-11 figure expect Haznawi, whom he claims to have seen only at a guesthouse.1 |
