Pakistani officials described him as a senior figure in the alleged 2006 plot to blow up several airliners originating in the United Kingdom. However, in December 2006, a Pakistani judge declared terrorism charges against him unfounded. As of February 2007, he is still charged with forgery and carrying explosives. The United Kingdom has also requested his extradition.2 |
