	Reliable	Ramzi Binalshibh was a key 9-11 facilitator who tried and failed to obtain a visa to enter the United States to take part in the attacks as a pilot-hijacker. At the time of his arrest he was plotting to hijack and crash aircraft into Heathrow Airport in London. He has identified four al-Qaeda operatives, possibly Saudi, who were to take part in the operation. He came from an unremarkable background and fought in Yemen civil war in 1994. He worked as a bank clerk until 1995, when he moved to Germany. He was apparently radicalized there, when he began to speak of a worldwide Jewish conspiracy. But he had a reputation of being outgoing and polite. He met Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan in 1999. During prepartions for 9-11, he served as the link between the operatives in the United States and al-Qaeda's leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Information provided by Abu Zubaydah played a role in his capture. Information Binalshibh provided played a role in Khalid Shaikh Mohammed's capture. He was one of 14 key al-Qaeda operatives and associates transferred from CIA custody to the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2006.1,2,3,4
