![]() | Reliable | Al-Qaeda operative Richard Reid snuck explosives onto American Airlines Flight 63, a Boeing 767 en route from Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris to Miami, Florida, in an attempt to destroy the plane mid-flight. During the flight, a flight attendant saw him trying to light a match on his shoe and tried to stop him. Ried fought, and several passengers and crew members eventually disabled him. The plane diverted to Boston with a fighter escort and Reid was arrested. | |
