![]() | Reliable | Two of the three bombings occurred in a tourist district; the third took place outside the U.S. Consulate. Of the victims, the plurality, 88, were Australian. Samudra initiated the bomb plot and selected the target and time of the bombings. He also recruited and commanded the team that executed the blasts. Indonesian police found the following message on Samudra?s computer: "We are responsible for the incident in Legian St. Kuta Bali, at Saturday night, October 12, 2002 also near General Consulate building in Jalan Hayman Wuruk 188, Denpasar, Bali at the same night."1,3 | |
