  • Hijacked United Airlines Flight 175, bound from Boston to Los Angeles, and crashed it into the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. One of the "muscle" hijackers.
  • Muscle hijackers Ahmed al-Ghamdi, Saeed al-Ghamdi, Hamza al-Ghamdi and Ahmed al-Haznawi all came from a cluster of three towns in the isolated al Bahah region of Saudi Arabia, and they shared a tribal affiliation.
  • Attended prayer services regularly.1

  • The three Ghamdis and Haznawi many have known each other from as early as the fall of 1999.
  • May have tried to enter Chechnya. He had documentation suggesting travel to a Russian republic.
