| Narrative and Notes (Reliable) | Abu Ubaidah, a top military commander in al-Qaeda, died in a steamship disaster on Lake Victoria. The ship, the MV Bukoba, went down with as many as 1,000 people on board. The ship was overloaded and not maintained well, so it doesn't appear to have been some kind of attack.1 |
