 | Reliable | Trainer at al-Matar training complex, trained many or all of the 13 "muscle" hijackers on 9-11 in late 2000 and early 2001, according to Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. He was one of the few al-Qaeda operatives who was aware of the full detains of the Sept. 11 attacks. He is the son-in-law of Ayman al-Zawahiri. He taught the future hijackers how to conduct hijackings, disarm air marshals and handle explosives. He taught them basic English and bodybuilding. At one point, he had them butcher a sheep and a camel with a knife to prepare them to use knives during the hijackings. They were taught to storm the cockpit quickly during the flight. They were also taught truck bombing and other terrorist techniques to prevent them from knowing precisely what their operation was to be.1,4 |
