| Narrative and Notes (Reliable) | U.S. government witness Jamal al-Fadl described Abu Burhan as among those who wanted to form al-Qaeda at the end of the Afghan resistance. He later said Abu Burhan al-Iraqi was a member of the group's early shura council. Presumably, they are the same person.Abu Burhan apperas to be one of the early al-Qaeda leaders who does not have a prominent operational role in the organization today. Very little is known about him.1 |
