Three new swine flu cases registered in Russia

10:3417/07/2009 MOSCOW, July 17 (RIA Novosti) - Three new swine flu cases have been confirmed in Russia, bringing the total number to seven, Russia's chief sanitary official Gennady Onishchenko said on Friday.

The latest cases involve a man who returned from Thailand on July 10 and two 18-year-old girls who spent their vacation in Cyprus. None of the patients are in a serious condition.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 94,512 officially registered swine flu cases and 429 deaths in 135 countries and territories worldwide.

A total of 2,076 cases and seven deaths have been registered in Thailand, and 109 cases in Cyprus, both of which are popular tourist destinations for Russians.
