VC Regiment 2 Existed in MR5 from ca 1962; assigned Division 3 2 Sep 1965. (Regiments of Division 3 dispersed after Tet 1968 until reassembled Jun 1971.) Not shown in Mar 1972 list.

NVA Regiment 2 With Division 3 in Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns; 4th Sapper Bn; 5th Art Bn], Binh Dinh.

VC Regiment 3 Existed in MR5 from ca 1962 (but disappeared by 1965?).

VC Regiment 3 Presumptive designation of regiment assigned Division 9 2 Sep 1965. This regiment was later relieved from Division 9. Shown in southern I CTZ Jan 1969. Assigned Division 711 29 Jun 1971 and probably dissolved late 1973.

NVA Regiment 3 An element of Division 324 in 1966.

NVA Regiment 3 Possibly formed by redesignation of Regiment 95C sometime after Dec 1972, remaining assigned to Division 9.

NVA Regiment 3B Formed (before 1969) by redesignation of Regiment 88/Division 308 and assigned Division 9. Relieved from Division 9 1969, resuming old designation and assignment.

VC Regiment 4 Active by 23 Nov 1965 when assigned Division 5. Left before Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 6 In MR Tri-Thien-Hue in Jan 1969 and Dec 1972. In Mar 1972 there as well [800th, 802nd, 806th NVA Inf Bns, 12th NVA Sapper Bn, 35th NVA RL Bn], Thua Thien.

VC Regiment 6 Established Mar 1970 (HQ Apr 1970, 8th Bn Mar 1970, 7th and 9th Bns Apr 1970); an element of Division 5 in Mar 1972, Binh Long.

NVA Regiment 9 Element of Division 304 and sent to Laos ca Aug 1965; rejoined Division 304 by Jun 1968 (probably earlier).

NVA Regiment 9B Presumptive designation for element of Division 304B. However, in Mar 1972 Division 304B shown as having NVA Regiment 9 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns] rather than 9B; Quang Tri.

VC Regiment 10 Formed fall 1965 in MR 5. No other information found.

VC Regiment 12 Formed by redesignation of NVA Regiment 18/Division 312 (entered SVN Feb 1965); assigned Division 3 2 Sep 1965. (Regiments of Division 3 dispersed after Tet 1968 until reassembled Jun 1971.) With Division 3 Mar 1972 [4th, 5th, 6th Bns], Binh Dinh.

NVA Regiment 16 Formed 13 Jun 1966 by redesignation of Regiment 101 and assigned Division 7. Relieved soon after.

NVA Regiment 18 A component of Division 312 sent south in Feb 1965 and then redesignated as VC Regiment 12.

NVA Regiment 18B With MR 3 in Dec 1972. Assigned Division 4 1973 or 1974.

NVA Regiment 18C Element of Division 325C and came south with it late 1966; an independent unit after Tet 1968.

NVA Regiment 18D Component of Division 325D; sent to Laos ca 1969 and later returned.

NVA Regiment 21 Sent south by 20 Oct 1965 when assigned to Division 2. Relieved from Division 2 Mar 1971. Assigned Division 3 ca Jun 1971. However, shown under Division 2 Mar 1972 [4th, 5th, 6th Bns], Quang Ngai. Left Division 3 Jun 1973.

VC Regiment 22 Formed by 2 Sep 1965 when assigned to Division 3. (Regiments of Division 3 dispersed after Tet 1968 until reassembled Jun 1971.) Relieved from Division 3 ca Jun 1971.

NVA Regiment 24 Element of Division 304 and came south with it Aug 1965. Operated with Division 325B during 1966. Under B-3 Front in Mar 1972 [4th, 5th, 6th Bns], Pleiku. An independent unit in Dec 1972. Assigned Division 10 spring 1973. May have gone to Division 6.

NVA Regiment 24B In Mar 1972 an element of Division 304B [4th, 5th, 6th Bns], Quang Tri.

NVA Regiment 27 Shown in northern I CTZ in Jan 1969. Part of B5 Front ca Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns], Quang Tri.

NVA Regiment 31 Assigned Division 2 in 1966. Absent in 1972 (with B-5 Front in Mar and Dec 1972), but definitely back mid 1973. Mar 1972, under Division 2 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Quang Tin. However, another NVA Regiment 31 is also shown under B-5 Front [15th and 27th NVA Inf Bns, 11th and 12th NVA Sapper Coys, C9 and C10 VC MF Inf Coys], Quang Tri.

NVA Regiment 33 Component of Division 325 and came south with it Nov 1964, but left in 1965. Assigned Division 1 10 Dec 1965. Later relieved as a separate unit. Operated with Division 325B during 1966. In Mar 1972 under Ba Ria Special Region [K1 K2, K3 Bns], Phuoc Tuy (RHQ and K3 Bn), Long Khanh (K1 Bn), Binh Tuy (K2 Bn). With MR 7 in Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 36 Element of Division 308 and came south by itself in 1966; rejoined division by late 1967. Assigned Division 2 late 1974.

NVA Regiment 38 Shown in southern I CTZ Jan 1969. Assigned Division 711 29 Jun 1971. In Mar 1972 under Front 4 [7th, 8th, 9th Bns ], Quang Nam. Assigned Division 2 mid 1973.

NVA Regiment 48 Element of Division 320, coming south with it by Sep 1967.

NVA Regiment 52 Element of Division 320 sent south 1966 (later than Feb). Assigned Division 7, sometime 1966. Also shown as still with Division 320 in Jan 1969. Assigned to Division 2 spring 1972. Relieved mid 1973 and expanded as a brigade.

NVA Regiment 86 With MR 2 in Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 88 Element of Division 308 and came south date unknown. Assigned Division 1, date unclear; left ca Sep 1967 and rejoined Division 308. Redesignated Regiment 3B, date unclear (before 1969); by 1969 resumed old designation and rejoined Division 308. In Mar 1972 under MR 2 [K7, K8, K9 Inf Bns, K10 Sapper Bn], Binh Tuong (RHQ, K1 and K2 Bns), Kien Tuong (K9 Bn), Kien Phong (K10 Sapper Bn).

NVA Regiment 95 Component of Division 325 and came south with it Nov 1964. Relieved by end of 1965. Also known as Regiment 95A in Mar 1972, with MR 3 [Z7, Z8, Z9 Inf and Z3 Sapper Bns], Kien Giang (RHQ and Z3 Bn), An Xuyen (Z7 Z8, and Z9 Bns). With MR 3 in Dec 1972. Assigned Division 4 1973 or 1974.

NVA Regiment 95B Element of Division 325B and came south with it spring 1966. Independent unit by end of year. With B-3 Front Mar 1972 [K1 K63, K394 Bns], Pleiku. Assigned Division 10 20 Sep 1972. Transferred to Division 320 spring 1975.

NVA Regiment 95C Element of Division 325C and came south with it late 1966; an independent unit after Tet 1968. Assigned 1969 to Division 9. With Division 9 Mar 1972 [4th, 5th, 6th Bns], Tay Ninh. May have been renumbered as Regiment 3 after Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 95D Component of Division 325D, sent to Route 9 in early 1969 and then rejoined parent division.

NVA Regiment 98 Component of Division 316.

NVA Regiment 101 Component of Division 325 and came south with it Nov 1964. An independent unit after late 1965. With SR 1 in Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Binh Long (RHQ), Binh Duong (1st Bn), Hau Nghia (2nd Bn), Tay Ninh (3rd Bn).

NVA Regiment 101B Element of Division 325B and came south with it spring 1966. Combined later with Regiment 101C.

NVA Regiment 101C Initially formed as part of Division 325C, may have come south on its own and absorbed Regiment 101B, possibly serving with Division 325B before it was dissolved at the end of 1966..

NVA Regiment 101D Would have been activated for Division 325D, but came south with Division 325C late 9166. Remained as independent regiment after Tet 1968. Assigned Division 1 by Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 102 Element of Division 308 and came south with it by Sep 1967.

NVA Regiment 126 Shown in northern I CTZ Jan 1969.

NVA Regiment 138 Shown with B-5 Front, northern I CTZ, in Jan 1969.

NVA Regiment 141 Element of Division 312 but sent south 1966. Assigned Division 7 13 Jun 1966. Assigned Division 2 Mar 1971. In Mar 1972 under Front 4 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Quang Nam, Rejoined Division 312 1973.

NVA Regiment 141 (note 2) An element of Division 7 in Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Tay Ninh.

NVA Regiment 165 Element of Division 312 but sent south 1966. Assigned Division 7 13 Jun 1966. With Division 7 in Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns], Tay Ninh. Rejoined Division 312 1973.

NVA Regiment 174 Element of Division 316 and sent to Tay Nguyen highlands in 1967. With Division 5 in Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Tay Ninh. May have rejoined parent division spring 1975.

NVA Regiment 188 In Mar 1972 under MR 3 [Z4, Z5 and Z6 Inf Bns, T20 Sapper Bn], Kien Giang.

VC Regiment 201 Assigned Division 303 when it was activated 19 Aug 1974.

NVA Regiment 205 Element of Division 5 Dec 1972. Transferred to Division 303 19 Aug 1974.

NVA Regiment 207 Assigned Division 6 in 1973 or 1974, having been an independent regiment.

NVA Regiment 209 Element of Division 312, going south with it Sep 1967. Assigned Division 7 early 1972, in Mar 1972 [K4, K5, K6 Bns], Tay Ninh. Rejoined Division 312 1973.

NVA Regiment 246 In Mar 1972 with B-5 Front [1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns], Quang Tri. With B-5 Front in Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 270 Shown in northern I CTZ Jan 1969. Assigned Division 711 29 Jun 1971. However, in Mar 1972 under B5 Front [4th, 5th and 6th Bns, plus 6th NVA Air Def Bn], Quang Tri. Relieved from Division 711and possibly dissolved late 1973.

NVA Regiment 270B With B-5 Front in Dec 1972.

VC Regiment 271 Established as early as Aug 1961 (Regiments 271 and 272 might have originally been numbered as 1st and 2nd (duplicating numbers used further north in Division 5). The third regiment may have been numbered as 3rd, which would also be a duplicate number). Assigned Division 9 2 Sep 1965. With Division 9 Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns], Tay Ninh. Possibly an independent unit by Dec 1972. Transferred to Division 303 19 Aug 1974.

VC Regiment 272 Established Aug 1961. Assigned Division 9 2 Sep 1965. With Division 9 Mar 1972 [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Tay Ninh.

VC Regiment 274 In Mar 1972 under Ba Ria Special Region [1st, 2nd, 3rd Bns], Long Khanh (1st and 2nd Bns), Bien Hoa (RHQ and 3rd Bn). With MR 7 in Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment 320 Formed 1964 from three battalions (one from Division 308) and sent south. Assigned Division 1 10 Dec 1965.

VC Regiment D-3 Establishment date unknown. In Mar 1972 under MR 3 [306th and 312th Bns], Vinh Binh (RHQ and 306th Bn), Vinh Long (312th Bn). With MR 3 in Dec 1972.

VC Regiment DT-1 Established Mar 1964. Under MR 2in Mar 1972 [261A and 261B Inf Bns and 269B Sapper Bn], Dinh Tuong.. Assigned Division 6 in 1973 or 1974.

NVA Regiment E-6 Element of Division 5 Dec 1972.

NVA Regiment Z15 Assigned Division 8 in 1973 or 1974; was an independent regiment.
