PNS Jauhar
In 1981 Pakistan Naval Engineering College was established and commissioned as PNS JAUHAR. The genesis of PN Engineering College lies in the Officers Training Center which was setup as part of PNS Karsaz in 1962. In 1966 the status of OTC was upgraded to that of a college and given the name of PN Engineering College (PNEC). It was initially affiliated with the University of Karachi and in 1977 the affiliation of PNEC transferred to NED University of Engineering and Technology. The college was shifted to its present location in 1982 and commissioned as PNS JAUHAR. PNEC became a constituent college of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in 1995. The college acquired ISO-9001 certification in 1999 and became the first ISO-9001 certified educational institute in Pakistan.
The role of the college is to produce engineers for Pakistan Navy. To do this the college conducts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering disciplines that lead to B.E and M.SC. Degrees. Besides service officers these courses are also availed by civilian students and officers of defense services from allied countries.
