Ministry of Atomic Energy
Atomic Energy was transferred to a Science and Technology Commission.
This is an organization with much broader objectives that include:
- Transforming WMD group into technology infrastructure group that will help rebuilding Iraq and transfer technology to its various sectors.
- Act as a liaison between Iraq and the industrialized world to partner in initiating various industries.
- Train Iraqi scientists and engineers with outside help in the various fields needed for technology transfer.
- Identify license holders with useful products and help acquire licenses that will improve Iraq's industries.
- Help keep Iraq's WMD scientists from leaving to work for potential proliferators such as Iran.
- Help in building some industries and turn them into public enterprises in the process of privatizing government based industries.
- Solve some of Iraq's outstanding problems such as water salinity problems by turning out locally made mass produced low cost desalination units.
