14th Group Army
The 14th Group Army, headquartered in Kunming is believed to be comprised of three divisions, an armored brigade, an AAA brigade, an engineer regiment, a communications regiment, and a pontoon regiment. According to the Asia Times on Nov 21, 2003, this unit is considered a Category B unit.
The 14th Group Army traces its lineage to the establishment of the 14th Corps in the late 1940s. The 14th was comprised of elements of the 13th and 15th Corps as well as KMT units. The 14th was located in Yunnan and was assigned to the 4th Army.
In 1949 the 14th Corps was comprised of the 40th, 41st and 42nd Divisions.
