SCIENCE REALM
SCIENCE REALM, initiated in 1986, was a follow-on to SCIENCE DAWN, and included several contractors in addition to Boeing. In contrast to SCIENCE DAWN, which stressed horizontal takeoff, SCIENCE REALM investigaed vertical takeoff SSTO designs, capitalizing on the high thrust-to-weight ratios of rocket engines.
