In September 1995 USNS Mohawk (T-AFT 170), a civilian manned fleet tug, operating as Sixth Fleet's rescue and salvage ship in the Mediterranean, completed a 12-day in port period in Constanta, Romania in support of Exercise Poseidon '95. Embarked onboard the ship was Detachment Bravo from mobile diving and salvage unit two. The in port period supported bilateral dive and salvage training between the U.S. Navy and their Romanian Navy counterparts. During the in port period both dive commands conducted tours to review a variety of dive and salvage equipment. U.S. Navy divers conducted a series of training scenarios involving scuba and surface supplied air systems, as well as a variety of techniques and equipment used for underwater salvage.
