Griffin Strike is the second aerial gunnery qualification for U.S. soldiers in the Czech Republic, coming close on the heels of the corps' groundbreaking 11th Aviation Brigade exercise "Talon Strike" in March 2002.
Griffin Strike is designed to provide each gunnery crew a prime opportunity to assess and verify their precision and skills in unfamiliar terrain. The UH-60 Black Hawk crews are scheduled to conduct live-fire gunnery, including night firing, as coordinated with host-nation officials in the Czech Republic.
The exercise began April 23 and is scheduled to end May 5.
