The EUCOM JTF training exercise, called Brave Knight, featured a Consequence Management scenario in Poland. This March 1999 event responded to complex contingencies under Presidential Decision Directive (PDD) 56. This event was exercised at the Deputy Assistant Secretary level, and addressed a WMD crisis in Europe. Brave Knight was supported by ACOM/JWFC, but it was a EUCOM JTF training event. It featured a Poland, Consequence Management (CM) scenario. Key dates were March 99 Mid Planning Conference (MPC) scenario development August 99 and Phase 3 CPX 15-30 Aug 99. Key locations for the exercise were the USACOM joint warfighting Center 9JWFC) Joint Training Analysis and Simulation Center (JTASC) and Kelley Barracks, Germany. The training audience was the Second marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) out of Camp Lejeune, NC, acting in a Joint Inter-Agency Task Force (JIATF) capacity. The scenario is that the JIATF and Interagency response team are formed in response to a nuclear weapon detonation in Eastern Europe.
