Israel has killed six more Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire supposedly in effect in the war-torn territory, further deepening the territory's humanitarian catastrophe.
The Israeli military took the lives of six more Palestinians in areas within the so-called yellow line on Wednesday, continuing assaults in violation of the ceasefire that took effect on October 10.
Medical sources reported civilian deaths from Israeli bombings in the Maghazi camp and Bani Suheila in Khan Yunnis, underscoring Israel's ongoing targeting of civilians.
Meanwhile, the Tel Aviv regime claimed to have killed several Hamas fighters and detained two others in Rafah, with the regime's minister for military affairs, Israel Katz, escalating rhetoric and operations.
He said he ordered the military to "destroy and wipe out" every Hamas tunnel in Gaza "down to the last one," stressing that eliminating the tunnel network is central to Israel's agenda in the so-called yellow zone - an area that already constitutes more than half of the territory under Israeli control.
In a statement, Hamas condemned Israel's pursuit, killing, and arrest of its fighters trapped in Rafah tunnels, calling it a blatant breach of the ceasefire and clear proof of Israel's intent to sabotage all attempts at stability.
The "pursuit, liquidation, and arrest of the fighters besieged in the tunnels of Rafah" serves as conclusive evidence of ongoing attempts to undermine and destroy the ceasefire, it stressed.
The resistance movement emphasized that for the past month it had coordinated with mediators and the US administration to secure the safe return of its besieged members, offering concrete proposals, all of which Israel obstructed by choosing "killing, crime, persecution, and arrest."
Hamas said the Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the fighters' fate and urged mediators to act immediately to pressure "Israel" to ensure their safe return.
Hamas fighters are a "unique symbol of sacrifice, resilience, heroism, and a representation of the dignity and freedom of the Palestinian people," the statement concluded.
According to the Gaza Government Media Office, Israel has violated the truce at least 500 times since it came into effect, killing and wounding hundreds of Palestinians in the process.
Israel has killed nearly 70,000 Palestinians and wounded at least 170,000 others in Gaza since October 2023.
