Roadside bomb strikes MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs

BAGHDAD – While conducting a combat security patrol, a MND-B Soldier died and another was wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated near the Soldiers in a southern section of the Iraqi capital March 29.

Iraqi security forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers continue conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon to help set on-going conditions for a stable and self reliant Iraq.

In the past two weeks, elements from this MND-B unit have found several IEDs and weapons caches, successfully taking these insurgent driven threats off the streets. Finding these caches and IEDs helps provide a more secure area for both the Iraqi people and U.S. and Iraqi security forces operating within the capital.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
