- Senior Army Officer Killed In Iraq Attacks RFE/RL 13 Feb 2005 -- Insurgents killed at least five people in attacks in Iraq today, including a senior army officer gunned down in an ambush.
- Second region in Afghanistan now disarmed, UN announces UN News Centre 14 Feb 2005 -- The Jalalabad region of Afghanistan has become the country's second to be disarmed, a United Nations spokesperson announced today.
- Afghanistan: Turkey Takes Over ISAF Command Headquarters RFE/RL 13 Feb 2005 -- Turkish military officials today took over the command headquarters of the NATO-led International Security Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Technically, the NATO alliance continues to be in charge of the UN-mandated force. The Turkish officers are replacing a unit of mostly French and German troops from the alliance's "Eurocorps" that have been in charge of ISAF headquarters since last year.

- Conference Urges Renewed Trans-Atlantic Cooperation RFE/RL 13 Feb 2005 -- German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer today called for a renewal of the trans-Atlantic relationship, saying the United States and the European Union "vitally depend on each other."

- INDIA/AVIATION INDUSTRY VOA 13 Feb 2005 -- India's plans to buy hundreds of passenger jets and war planes over the next few years are attracting global aircraft companies. India also is wooing aviation companies to outsource work to the country.
